Hi,
I installed the latest version available at the moment (8.D.2.2 Pro). When I type the "awe_designer" Matlab command, the AWE server successfully starts, but the following error pops up:
After the appearance of the error, the server keeps running, but the AWE designer is not launched.

Hi Nicolas,
I am sorry to see that you are getting this error. Can you please try to close everything and reopen 'awe_designer' again? You can also try 'clear all' , 'clear classes' and reopen 'awe_designer'.
Hope this helps!

Hi Karishma, thanks for your reply.
I did what you said, but the problem is still there. I rebooted my laptop, reinstalled both Matlab and AWE and the error is still there.
I also tried adding 'DesignerGUI.exe' to the apps allowed by window firewall, that did not help either.
Any other suggestion I might try?

Hi Nicolas,
Just to make sure. Can you check if both the DesignerGUI.exe as well as 'AWE_Server MFC Application.exe' are enabled by windows firewall? Both applications appear separately and seek separate permission. Attaching a screen shot here.

Hi Karishma,
Just tried your suggestion. It did not help.
Any other idea?
Is there any log file I could check to know the error in detail?

Hi Nicolas,
I am sorry to hear that you are still having problems. I am attaching a document which points to the causes that can lead to this issue. Can you please check if it resolves the issue. Yes, you can also log the server errors in text format. Please go to Server -> Help -> Open INI File. Changing Logging from 0 ->1. You can find the logs in folder 'DSP Concepts\AWE Designer 8.D.2.2 Pro\Bin\win32-vc142-rel\logs'.

Hi Nicolas,
The document mentions this point but can you please try to open the designer through windows browser? Do you still face the same issue?

Hi Nicolas,
Let's continue this discussion via email. Karishma and I will reach out.
Thanks,
Kevin
