Hi
We are trying to test the FIR filter in AWD 5.16 as a xover in a two-way loudspeaker configuration. We use the rePhase tool to produce the parameters for the FIR filter, but it does not work. When we test it with a mic. and REW, it gives a whistling sound but that's all. Do you have a full example (AWD file) of using the FIR filter to control a 2-way loudspeaker?

Hello,
Have you discovered our CrossoverFilter module? This will likely achieve your 2-way loudspeaker design with very little fuss.
If you do need to use the FIR module instead, you can right-click the module and select 'Plot Frequency Response' to make sure that your filter is doing what you expect. If the filter's response looks OK, then you can use meters, sinks, and sin generators to figure out where the problem is in your system.
I hope this helps,

Hello,
I do use the crossover module right now, but I want to test the FIR module. I will check the freq. response of the module as you suggest to see if my parameters do the job correctly. Do I need to adjust the block size at the input? Right now we use 192 Khz sampling with 64 bytes blocks. Do I need to have the same for sampling and block size when I construct the parameters?
Thanks.

You need to have the sample rate and the bit depth the same in order for your FIR to properly align.
