Answer: Yes. The AWE Core can be integrated into any embedded hardware/software environment. All of the features will be available including real-time tuning, profiling, testing, etc. Please see the AWE Core - Integration Guide for more information about integrating Audio Weaver into your product.

Hi Axel.Is ST-AudioWeaver also can be configured on my own hardware? May be you have some examples how to do this?
9:51am
Hello,
The STMicro version of Designer is configured to only connect to ST products running the ST AWE Core. We currently support the STM32F407, STM32F746, and STM32L496 processors, and we will shortly be posting Board Support Packages for the Discovery Boards associated with those processors.
To connect to custom hardware, you need the Standard or Pro versions of Audio Weaver Designer.
Thank you

Thanks for reply, Axel,
so if I'm understanding right, I should develop system only on one of supported STM disco boards. But it is possible after developing and debugging to use generated code(or binary) on custom board, with different codec but the same MCU?

To build a product with Audio Weaver, one integrates the AWE Core (a library) into the embedded software on your product. We have hand optimized the AWE Core to run extremely efficiently on a wide number of instruction set architectures. The free ST AWE Core will only run on ST Cortex M4 and M7 processors.
To help illustrate how the AWE Core integrates into embedded software, we provide 3 Board Support Packages to serve as "reference integrations". For ST AWE Core, we have 3 Discovery boards that we support. For other versions of AWE Core, we have reference BSP's for ADI SHARC , TI C66x, and Atmel M7 eval boards.

Will the free ST AWE Core run only on 407, 746 and 496 discovery boards? The same series of ST's Cortex-M4 or Cortex-M7 processors will not work?
9:13am
The free ST AWE Core provided in the ST BSPs will work with any ST Cortex-M4/M7 processor.

Thanks Matt
Is ST AWE Core "locked" on this 3 Board Support Packages? Or it will work with my custom BSP, if board based on STM32F407, STM32F746, or STM32L496 MCU?
12:49pm
The ST AWE Core is locked to the processor itself. It will work fine with a custom BSP on a custom board. The DSPC-provided BSPs are just for reference. Please see the AWE Core - Integration Guide for more details on how it integrates into a custom BSP.

Thank for the info, Matt!
Yes, I read AWE Core - Integration Guide, but there is no any info about exectly free ST version, so I just want to clarify it. Now everything is clear for me.
P.S. excellent product! I spent some time with AWD today and it is really cool!

Sorry to dig out this old thread. If I understood correctly, Audio Weaver Designer ST-Edition allows me to profile and tune in real time the 3 discovery boards only, and you need at least the Standard Audio Weaver Designer to profile and tune in real time a custom board.
Is this still true ?
10:01am
The STMicro edition of Designer lets you connect to and tune any STMicro Cortex M4 or M7 processor, not just the 3 discovery boards listed. This edition also displays the total CPU usage of your audio system in the Audio Weaver Server window. If you want to connect to any non-STMicro processors, or if you want more detailed real-time profiling information, you will need the Standard edition of Designer.

Okay thanks for this clarification Axel.
